Bricks for '26

We are writing to let you know about a small but important change to our mobile phone policy, which will come into effect from September 2026.

From this date, smartphones will no longer be permitted on school premises. Children who are allowed to bring a phone to school will still be able to do so, but only basic, non‑smart “brick phones” (call and text only) will be accepted.

We would like to reassure parents that the existing policy will remain in place that only children who travel independently to and from school are permitted to bring a phone on site, and only with written parental permission provided via the End of Day Arrangements form. Phones must continue to be turned off on arrival and handed in to staff for safe storage during the school day.

As families of children in Years 3, 4 and 5, we know that many of you may be beginning to think about whether or when to buy your child a phone. We hope that giving you advance notice of this change will help you make an informed decision that supports your child’s wellbeing, friendships and safe development.

Please find attached a short leaflet explaining the change, the reasons behind it, and examples of suitable phones. The change will apply from September 2026 and gives families plenty of time to plan ahead.
