Year 6 completed their French unit of study by recreating a French cafe. They planned and created their own menus and then role-played the situation. Food was only served if the customer and the server spoke French allowing the children to practice their French vocabulary and pronunciation. Great fun was had by all putting their learning into action - some even discovered a new cheese!
We celebrated our first SJB Carol service today. With the help of Miss Large and her family who played brass instruments we listened to readings and sang traditional Christmas Carols around the crib. The finale was led by our music ambassadors, Jamil and Isabelle, who played the piano as we sang "Jingle Bells". Many thanks to Miss Corney for organising this festive event.
We have been awarded the Oscar Romero award - Participator Level. It recognises how, through our curriculum and policies, we live the unique calling of a Catholic school to become an evangelising centre by empowering young people and staff to become true agents of the change they want to see in the world by putting their faith into action.
